About Raj's

Located at 42-12 28th St, Long Island City, NY 11101, Raj's operates as an indian restaurant serving Long Island City in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Long Island City, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 10:30 am–9:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Raj's at (718) 361-8844; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is orderrajsindiankitchen.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Long Island City is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Long Island City is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is the most bland terrible Indian food I have ever had. I ordered the vindaloo, requested for it to be spicy and there was NO spice at all! Not to mention that it basically tasted like straight up uncooked tomato sauce. I’m disgusted. Never again.

Raj’s Indian Kitchen was a wonderful experience, especially their Paneer Makhani! The paneer was soft, fresh, and perfectly coated in a rich, creamy, and flavorful sauce. The spices were balanced beautifully, creating a comforting and authentic taste that paired perfectly with naan or rice. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a must-try dish for anyone who loves delicious Indian food β€” I’ll be coming back for more!

I order kebabs and Biriyani. The sheekh kebabs were good. But the Biriyani is not really Biriyani. It’s so wet like rice mixed with a lot of mutton curry/gravy. Please fix the Biriyani and I will change my review here.

Read the entire review as I have detailed the transition of their quality TLDR: was a great biryani spot once but it has since deteriorated a lot! Loved their chicken biryani. I realized how overrated Angel restaurant is after tasting the biryani here lol. The quality and quantity of biryani were excellent and it came with ample amount of chicken pieces and the raita was also pretty amazing. Would recommend adding up a spice coz their default seemed like a mild one probably to cater to the no Indian folks. Over all great biryani enjoyed it. Would give 4.5/5, cutting a 0.5 coz the I felt the texture of rice could be a bit drier but not a major flaw IMO. This was a to-go order, will definitely done in here soon Tried the lamb biryani the next day and boy did it not disappoint at all, better than the chicken variant, so amazing! Update nov 23: ordered lamb biryani today and the quality dropped significantly to what I had previously. Lots of white rice, lacking the flavor it previously had. Makes me wonder if they’re having quality control to ensure product consistency Update dec 07: great biryani today, guessing it was an one off incident They’re quality dropped significantly o
